Rio Grande Gorge

Field Notes:  I found a spot just off the High Road to Taos with this panoramic view of the Rio Grande Gorge. It remains one of my favorites...perhaps because a grizzled old guy selling beef jerky about 200 feet away, quietly watched my progress and when I finished, he came over to take a closer look. He said, "I've watched many people try to paint this view -- this is the best one I've seen so far."
